Fettink

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data Fettink collects, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. We keep this document short and plain-language intentionally.

1. Who We Are

Fettink is a spec-driven development tool for engineering teams. Questions or requests about your data can be sent to customerservice@fettink.com.

2. Data We Collect

Account data

When you register, we collect your email address and display name. If you invite team members, we store their email addresses as well.

Content you create

We store the spec sessions, requirements documents, task specs, acceptance criteria, and any other content you create inside the Service. This content is stored per-organisation in Google Firestore.

Usage data

We collect AI token usage counts, session counts, and generation timestamps to enforce plan limits and show you your analytics dashboard. We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage patterns on the marketing site.

Billing data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, but never your card number or full payment details — those stay with Stripe.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the Service
  • To enforce plan limits (token budgets, session limits)
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. password reset, payment failure notices)
  • To improve the Service through aggregate, anonymised usage analysis
  • To respond to support requests

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use the content you create in Fettink to train AI models.

4. Third-Party Services We Use

Google Firebase & Google Cloud

Authentication, database (Firestore), and hosting infrastructure. Data is stored in Google's data centres. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Gemini AI

We send your spec content to Google's Gemini API to generate documents. See Google's Generative AI Terms for how they handle API data.

Stripe

Payment processing. Stripe stores your payment method details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics (GA4)

Aggregate usage analytics on the marketing site (fettink.com). We use anonymised data only. You can opt out via browser settings or a GA opt-out extension.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing compliance reasons (e.g. payment records for up to 7 years).

6. Security

Access to your data is authenticated via Firebase Auth and scoped per-organisation in Firestore. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. We apply security rules to prevent cross-organisation data access.

No security measure is perfect. Please report security concerns to customerservice@fettink.com.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email customerservice@fettink.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

8. Cookies

We use Firebase Auth, which stores an authentication token in local storage. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
