Why this matters
The Compose screen is your prompt workbench. Write or refine prompts with live quality scoring, guardrail scanning, and one-click AI completion across multiple providers.
How it works
Compose combines a prompt editor with real-time analysis. As you type, the quality score updates, guardrails scan for issues, and you can send the prompt to AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) without leaving the page.
Writing effective prompts
The quality scorer evaluates five dimensions:
- Role/persona: Does the prompt define who the AI should be?
- Task specificity: Is the task clear and unambiguous?
- Output format: Does it specify how results should be structured?
- Constraints: Are there boundaries on length, tone, or scope?
- Context: Is enough background provided?
Aim for a score above 70 to get consistently good results.
Choosing a provider and model
Select your provider (Google Gemini, Anthropic, or OpenAI) and model from the dropdowns. Different models have different strengths:
- Gemini: Great for general tasks, fast responses.
- Claude: Strong at nuanced writing and analysis.
- GPT: Versatile, good at code and structured output.
Streaming responses
Click "Send to AI" and the response streams in real-time. You can stop generation mid-stream if the output is going off track. After completion, copy the response or rate it with thumbs up/down to help improve recommendations.
